Adobe have announced that ACR version9.1.1 released today will be the last release from them suitable for Photoshop CS6.

Well this marks a final nail in their coffin for me purchasing from them as I wont ever buy subscription software.
So it is off to PirateBay in future for hacked versions of Photoshop CC.
I have legitimate copies of Photoshop CS6, Illustrator CS6, InDesign CS6 as well as Lightroom 6.1.1 seems like this relationship is about to end.   Thankfully I have planned for this day and have looked for and at alternatives and have these ready to use should Photoshop CS6 start to become unstable.

I am underwhelmed by Lightroom6 as a product for photo editing as Capture One Pro is much better.  COP8 has Layers built in and can be purchase as full payment or subscription software.

It seems like the greedy Adobe monster has just cut its own head off.  As an Adobe software user since 1990s I can say that this shows that they have lost their strategic customer direction and are now driven by the stupid ideas of accountants who are only interested in the concept of shareholder value and dividends.  They forget that it is customer purchases that provide these side benefits!

Adios Adobe.  Tu futuro es muerte!

I am a little confused Jonathan. (Happens easily these days!)

I thought Adobe had already stopped ACR for CS6 at lower versions?
I had to get CC to get ACR 8.something to open Fuji raw files?

Maybe I was misinformed?

Frankly, CS6 is faster and better than CC, which like all these new directions in software developments seems to forgo basic functionality for gimmicky visual effects.

I would have much preferred staying with CS6... which in fact I still have
on my XP machine.

No you can still get ACR updates up to version 9.1 and soon 9.1.1
That provides the most up to date RAW support and is identical in RAW suport to that provided in Adobe CC.

I am sticking with CS6 until Acorn Editor supports Actions sometime in the future maybe 2016.

Hmmm...wonder why I thought that?
Was it that Windows 8 didn't support CS6?

I know that when I got my new PC with Windows 8.1 I had to get new software and it coincided with the Fuji raw files needing a newer version of ACR.

Anyway it doesn't matter as I have no intention of upgrading from CC and the cameras I have are going to have my undivided attention for quite some time yet!

No. I do have CC on the Win 8.1 but have CS6 on the old XP machine...and I am sticking at that.

I was just a bit confused as to what the trigger was that forced me to get CC???? I thought it was an ACR incompatibility but maybe it was just a rush of blood to the brain. o.O

Thy wallet were bulging and now is being constantly relieved by Adobe.

Me thinks that you have lost your Yorkshire thrift! You will need to have some Tetley's and relax.
