Long time happy Aperture user here, more than a little annoyed with it's demise and also its replacement... Curious as to what others are using in terms of a replacement app. Right now I am evaluating LR and C1, and based on what I've seen C1 is coming out ahead for me in terms of cataloging and rating images as well as the actual images looking better on C1 than they do on LR. |

For me I find that LR v5.7.1 has better catalogs but less good RAW processing and editing than Capture One Pro v8.2 Likewise on my Mac the C1 catalogs are fragile butin LR there are issues with the lack of proper Layers and quality of image output when using Fuji X Series cameras RAW files is worse than C1, but Nikon NEFs are OK. So I use LR for cataloguing but C1 for RAW processing. |

Lightroom all the way for me, if I need layers or more than I can do in ACR I go into PS. |

For the most part I really prefer C1 over LR, and want to avoid using two different programs, if at all possible. Also, I've been evaluating both C1 and LR for the past week, by and large I am finding I prefer C1, though the one thing I am having trouble with is that the NEF files it processes are all way to warm. Have you found this to be the case for you? |

Us ing C1 I have never managed to catalog my whole image library of 125000 images as the catalog process chokes at 40-50K. I can catalog all my images with MediaPro or Lightroom or iView. I know there are others using C1 that have similar sized image libraries but they are on Windows and C1 works for them. No problem with colour accuracy with C1 from my Nikons or Fuji cameras. There are default characteristics that can be changed. Is you system colour calibrated? If not then this is a must do item. Try the Datacolor Spyder 4. |

So to look at each immage for 2 seconds would take you about 70 hours. |

LR finally got me on board. C1 just never felt like a complete solution. LR, however, really needs to have Photoshop available for ocassional tweaks not easily accomplished in LR and of course for layers. Together, LR and PS are the cat's whiskers !!! |

I have mine broken up into several smaller ones.. no, never calibrated my monitor. i use a macbook pro for most of my image processing so never bothered but maybe i should. |

Another vote for Lightroom and PS. I use a mac book pro and have calibrated it but find there is very little difference between calibrated and standard mac settings. |

Seems it has a sister product Phase One Media Pro 1, which integrates with it and handles the DAM work. Sounds like you would need both to get a comparable product to Lightroom, which makes it a fair bit more expensive. |

I have MediPro and it works very well for all my images but the interface is not very good but it works well enough. I was lucky to get it in a 1/2 price offer. |
