Today Nikon finally released the 800mm f5.6 AFS VR lens with dedicated x1.25 teleconverter which gives a 1000mm f7.1 lens. It only weighs 4.6kg for those who might consider getting one. If you have a spare $18000 then maybe a good investment!!! I dont think I can afford this lens this side of my Ferrari 455. http://www.europe-nikon.com/en_GB/press_room/press_releases_main.page?Period=New&Quarter=0&SY=0&ID=templatedataen_GBnews_articledataBV-NIKKOR-45147-20130129&sParamValueLbl=New&sParam1ValueLbl=Go+to+great+lengths+with+Nikon%E2%80%99s+new+AF-S+NIKKOR+800mm+f%2F5.6E+FL+ED+VR+lens+and+dedicated+teleconverter |

JK, In its dedicated carrying case, it may not fit in your Ferrari. Regards, Gilbert (grin) PS warning, the spec does not say so, but it is a G-type lens. |
