That's a lovely rose Chris, what's its name? Is it a Peace rose? Jan has been out in the garden with her iphone. She finds the greater depth of field from the smaller sensor/wider lens better for her purposes. Not a Peace - they are fuller and more yellow. This one was an impulse buy at the garden centre till about 35 years ago and it has long since lost its label! It reliably flowers every year and, if regularly dead headed will go on flowering all summer. |

All this talk about iPhone took this snap on last evenings walk. Not very easy to compose photos on it in the bright evening sun. Little crop and minor levels all it needed in Photoshop. I am quite impressed with the quality. Click here to comment on this image. |

Nice one Graham, phones have a better dof and for such a tiny sensor the resolution is amazing - it always used to be that Samsung had the better camera but I think Apple have overtaken them now. |

It's a Poppythey have gone mad this year. Was hoping the muntjacs would eat them in front garden ..but they don't seem to like them. There's always bugs in flowers. I give it a shake and hope the petals stay on. Here's one I 'shook' earlier.  Click here to comment on this image. |

That's obviously a different creeper to ours (supposedly a Virginia creeper) because ours is struggling to go solid red as yours. It has some red leaves but it seems to need an overnight frost (which we haven't had yet) to turn it all at once. Ours has grown down the fence backing onto a lane. We have had some really cold nights in the last week - that maybe brought the colour on, also it is on the west side of the tree so has more exposure to the wind and the sun (when we see it!). |

Jan was photographing a minute false widow spider on her orchids the other day. It was only about 3mm long! ( she wanted to identify what it was) . I tried to get a comparable image with the Sony + 90mm macro but struggled with f28 and noise due to the low light in that location.  Click here to comment on this image. |
