I have a glass sphere about 3" in diameter and have been experimenting with it.

On my wall I have this print of Honfleur

Is the section in your glass sphere photo of the girl in the picture in the orange dress with the pannier who has a quay bollard in front of her?

I guess the sphere is behaving as a type of anamorphic lens.

I have a similar sphere that I purchased two years ago but with all the moves and disruption over the last two years I havent had a chance to experiment with it.  Good opportunity to use this time, as I have run out of the DIY materials I need, to do some tabletop photos and experiments.

Yes - that is the girl.

Not an anamorphic lens as the aspect ratio is the same, but a magnifying lens - I noticed that, held in my hand close to an object, the usual inverted reduced image became the right way up and larger.
