as a lot of you know ,i have had numerous problems with my d7100 since new ,tried various cures and twitches and got it working reasonably well ,well out today with it taking some pics of birds on feeders in bright sunlight ,sun behind me and i was getting readings of 1/1600th sec at 4000 iso at f7.1 ,but i carried on without realising ,then the review screen went totally black ,i then tried to go into menu nothing either switched it off then back on took about two shots at f7.1 the next shot it had changed itself to f45 and again and again ..changed the t.c just in case ,no better . stormed off home ,phoned the shop up LCE chester .told to bring it in ,no argument changed for a brand new body .,just set it up and it already feels different tried a few test shots in fading light and seem to be a lot better ,try again tomorrow as i,m at a air show |

Well I hope that you do not have any problems with the new camera. I will be interested to hear if the exposure workings are the same with this body as the previous one. |

That's good service. I wonder how many D7100's have had similar problems. |

now that is the question ,it also makes me wonder how many people out there are struggling as i was with faulty cameras without realising it ,and remember i'm an experienced nikon user .most advice i was getting seems to have been based on oh thats the way these new sensors work . i'll give this a week and see . i estimate i took around 4000 shots with the old one and at least 3000 of them were test shots to try to figure it out ..time will tell >:( |

Well it's good to know. I suppose we are all guilty of missing the obvious ....a faulty camera. I guess we have come to expect reliability from Nikon bodies and consider it last on the list. Maybe it should always be at the top when a significant change from our experience occurs. |
