It seems that Nikon are refreshing their complete range of DSLRs. There are rumours of a new D3200 coming soon. All that is required now is a D7000 and a D300 replacement and everything is new (within the last year) in the DSLR range.

If they don't release a D400 soon I might step from D200 to D7000

They will releas a D7100 later this year or early next. Nothing wrong with the D7000 it is a very strong performer. You might be able to pick up a good second hand D700 which will be a better buy long term.

I afraid I've got fed up of waiting for the D400.

Since getting a D3 I have little interest in DX bodies. Though they will be the mass market face of Nikon for some considerable time to come. I like the idea that Nikon's body line-up will be largely new but that does mean that they have to do all the work at the same time instead of spreading it around.

I would like to jump to FX but the availibilty and price of a D700 is impossible . Used they are all beat up and high shutter count .
