After a few months using the Olympus I can say that there are more good points than bad. The EVF took a little bit of getting used to it but now it's fine with the benefit that any +/- adjustments done the affect can be seen in the view finder. It's not as good at high ISO which I expected, where I was happy on the D500 to use 6400 I would not go beyond 3200 on the Olympus. The lack of weigh is great in that it's less than half the weight of my Nikon gear. FPS are stupid quick to the point that I have restricted mine to 10fps. The pro capture is useful but eats through the frames. Battery life is better than I thought with two batteries seeing me through a full day. The stabilisation is much better than the Nikon as the in camera body and the lens stabilisation work together giving up too six stops. I can handhold a 300mm with 1.4 attached at 1/60 and for me that's some going. So all in all good so far. Watch this space. |

The same from me .although I will shoot up to I.s.o 6400 and with a bit of adjusting in LR/ PS they can be reasonably recovered . Close and medium range shots are great ,pushing the limits does result in blurred images but on a par with other makes . I use a PL 100-400 which differs from Ian's in being a f6.3 start with no ibis lens only i.s .. I have only used my tripod once since changing so that says something ,as camera and lens weigh in at 1.4 kg |
