just bought a Nikon d7000 with 70-300ED lens for the wife to use as . bought both from FFORDES in Scotland so both carry a six month warranty . purchased Sunday evening both arrived today . having had one before it took me about 10 minutes to set up .. what has amazed me is how much prices have dropped on these , the camera is in A1+ condition with a shutter count of just over 9000 the lens as well is in A1 condition and the pair cost me less than £250 delivered .when I look at some of the crap on e.bay for a lot more I have to shake my head and wonder why .
couple of test shots from half a hour ago

eBay prices have become over inflated by the 14% charge to sellers (incl on postage). Sellers then inflate their prices accordingly. There is also the bidding frenzy that pushes up prices further. Several times I've part exchanged at WEX (because they are local to me and I like to look people in the eye when they estimate my equipments value) and found they have offered prices that are less than 10% below eBay prices. If the price is less than 14% below the typical eBay sale price I always accept...saves a lot of hassle like packing/postage/buyer complaints etc.
I am surprised you didn't buy her another Olympus to share lenses and give you a back up. 😆

Private Ebay sellers regularly get promotions that give a maximum final value fee (incl postage) of £1 - I always wait for the promotions before listing a batch of stuff for sale.
I think a lot of sales are made to people who are just browsing for an item and they do little research into value for money and of course it is always a gamble as to whether you get a good deal / good item.

did mull that one over Eric but the price range limited me to a omd1-mk1 which has poor reliability issues . very nearly went for a d300s but this was £50 cheaper . will upgrade the lens once funds ease up .. and I can't really see that much difference between this and the d7200 that I had . .

omd1-mk1 which has poor reliability issues. What reliability issues Jeff?
My friend has two one for him and one for his wife. He now has mkii's. The two mki's one has 120k shoots the other 90k and never missed a beat.
