| Has anyone purchased or rented a D750 camera as yet? I would like to get a test NEF for my software testing. The RAW file should be ideally taken outside in sunlight or cloudy conditions and shoudl be correctly exposed. If you could upload the test NEF for me to a Dropbox location then it woudl be very useful. I dont like using the DPReview test images for my testing as they are studio shot and dont really IMHO reflect true use!. Thanks

| Well I think I will have to download a sample from DPR as I will never be able to face Gilbert again if I was to buy a D750. I wish that the D610 or D750 had the Highlight exposure mode of the D810. Personally I think the D810 is the top Nikon camera. The D4S seems like Emperors new clothes and very expensive for what you get! Actually I think that I only will be getting single digit cameras in the future. Fuji XPro2, XT2. I am seriously thinking that there is little in the Nikon camera and lens range that really tempts me these days. I have all I need for my photographic projects and more!

| Apparently the D750 does have the Highlight exposure mode or function. Maybe it is getting towards the time when I need to clear out some cameras. The D3S, D3, D700 may need to be superceeded by a D750. I already have a D800 so I dont really see the need for a D810 and I am very happy with my D600.

Will you guys just STOP that...I'm telling myself the D3 is the best camera I'll ever need...I slipped last year and bought a D800 and I love it, but I just plain don't need a new DSLR  please please don't make me do it...

The D800 has too many pixels for every dayuse but is great where you need exceptional detail. However the D600 seems to reall fit the bill and gives me enough pixels when I need to make a big crop. The D750 has the same number of pixels as the D600 but has some nice extras such as Highlight driven exposure. This is found in the D810 as well.

| Tom re: is the best camera I'll ever need I agree, most people can live quite happily with a single digit Nikon. And when needed one can use it so smack anyone telling anything different, try that with a D6nn and it will most likely die instantly. Regards, Gilbert

Am I right in guessing that the exposure is set to just not blow the highlights and compress the rest of the dynamic range of the image into the remaining dynamic range of the sensor, or does it under expose the dark end... I ask because highlights ares sometimes several stops too bright and result in over exposure and to expose correctly for them would mean most of the rest of the image is black.

| See here Robert for a good description. http://nps.nikonimaging.com/technical_solutions/d810_tips/highlight/ It essentially reduces exposure so the highlights dont blowout.
