I suppose this should be where we document the work done setting up the forum, for future reference and so the members know what we are doing to get the forum ready. For my own part, in recent days I've; Fixed the header logo and got rid of the borders. Set the image and avatar allowances (avatars can now be a generous 200 pixels wide and 80kbs file size. Replaced the "PM" indicator with one that looks like an LED. Set correct user permissions for the different user groups. Today I've imported, tagged and set the order of all the emoticons. Believe it or not that took me just under 3 hours! Before bed I should have 2 new buttons on the forums front page. These will be "MY OWN POSTS" and "TOPICS I STARTED". They are self-explanatory and clicking either button will bring all of your own posts or topics up, which makes it very easy to find your own posts and topics. |

Many small customisations around layout and content will be happening. Steve and I seem to be working through these at a good rate. It is really helpful to have two people doing this. There are still some large unfinished items that will come over the space of the next few months but it is looking good for us to go live in 1st week of May (fingers crossed). Unfortunately I am away from 29 April to 4th May so maybe we will go live on 5th May. I will send out a blanket email to all old members that are on the old forum. The old forum will become read only and so if you wish to continue then to go and register on the new one. If you have already registered then please take no notice when you receive this email. |

I've just found a bug in the profile fields. If you look at the attached picture, you will see the divider to the right of our avatars (I marked them in yellow) are in different places because we are using different sized avatars. I will fix that later. Attachment: nikon.jpg (Downloaded 74 times) |

I've set the page background to stay fixed in position, which means when we scroll up or down the forum templates will scroll or float over the background. |

Yesterday uploaded new icon for "new posts since last visit"  and this one for "no new posts since last visit"  |

I've replaced the generic favicon (little site identification icon that appears in the search bar and tabs with the site link) with a new one I made today. Here is the old one;  Here is the new one;  It may take a day or three for your browsers to flush the old favicon and display the new one. |

Fixed the IE9 login problem today, at least it seems to be fixed. In the New Topic editor, I changed the "Post a New Topic" button text to "Submit". |

Sounds like a good idea. Hope they complete their locale info too. BTW, I found a neater solution by ignoring the selected country and adding a comma followed by UK, instead of 'United Kingdom', slightly less cumbersome. The only trouble with that is you can't select all the United Kingdom members, because some like me, have not selected the proper country name. |
