See attached photo.

I was out with my cousin earlier on an unsuccessful aurora watching session.  However there was a lovely starry sky.  I haven't sussed out how to take star photos so mine weren't up to much but Laura was snapping with her phone which was worse than useless but she caught something strange.

On one pic we saw a faint white streak.  The photo was taken pointing the camera upwards at the sky so there was nothing in front of it. None of the other photos have anything other than a black screen showing.  We can see the white streak on her phone but on the pc it was just dark till I adjusted the contrast.  It ain't stars.  Can anyone explain it? Obviously fiddling with the contrast has brought out a pile of noise but streak is odd.

Interesting.

The sharp edges suggest its a static object in focus.

Amazing50 - I had to reduce it in size a bit to be able to upload it to the forum but apart from that and tweaking the contrast, I did nothing else to it.

Eric - was pointing up at the sky. There was nothing there except stars and certainly nothing close or we'd have been aware of it. It does have hard lines which makes me think it can't be a bird passing or something like that.

Strange.

I do like the tardis theory but...umm...probably not. Could be an alien craft... :-)

More like a hair across the lens....but that wouldn't be sharp that close.

Its the new thought tendrils that were released early this month. From 1st April all thoughts are captured as part of the new initiative to replace the PRISM project that was show to be a complete waste of space.

Tendril program stands for Thought Entry aNd DiscoveRy InteLligence.

This program is currently secret but exposes it self when it see stars! The US and UK tax payers have funded this program to the cost of £$3Gazillion which was hidden as Quantitative Easing in bank speak or Questionable Expenditure in normal language!

Seriously ...I wonder if it was a foreign body INSIDE the phone which fell over a corner of the sensor while it was help pointing upwards. Then fell away during or after the first picture was taken.

Not so much a dust bunnie as a dust snake!

o.O

Maybe take the cell camera out to the Loch, you might confirm your hypothesis "Hehehe... But, of course, Nessie is real!!!"
