jk, Here is all the file info. I am not to happy yet. I have to get the shutter speed up some. It's a new lens With a 5.6e App. All others are in the 2.8 or lower. The auto ISO will be higher on my next outing. Hmmmm. Nice lens! How do you find it? I have the Nikon 400mm f2.8 AFS which I use with a Kenko DG300Pro x2 converter but I need to have it on a tripod with the Wimberley head to get it to work nicely. The total set up with camera, lens, head and tripod weighs 10kg so it is not for long walks. I notice that your EV compensation is 0.0 and that you are using Aperture Priority, Matrix metering. I guess you need to boost shadows (+2 stops) to get detail in the underside of the wings. Is this correct? |

I have the 400 2.8 also and have the 2x III Nikon Converter. The new one is lighter then the 600 (I might be wrong but it handles better) and I use both with same tripod you have. The 800 comes with its own converter which pushes to 1000+mm. The detail under the wings works out well with a little work with software. I like the high side as you can always take it away. Ralph |

Thanks for the advice. I prefer to not have to post process too much so getting exposure as near correct is better for me. That said I have the software to do the job fairly quickly so it shouldnt be a problem. |
