| We must be thinking alike, I was about to post in a similar vein. The fires seem ferocious and perhaps not that far from JK?

Wow I hope all is well for JK. this is the first I have heard of the fires in Spain. they are everywhere around here mostly eastern Washington. still a concern with all the morons idiots and baffoons (oh my) you never know where they will toss a cigarette butt.  :makemyday:hope you all are doing well!! | Thanks all. I'm fine and thankfully far away from the current fires near Malaga. We have had major fires (not reported in UK) earlier in the year (July) but the current fires are similar to the fires we see all over Spain in the summer time. High temperatures, very dry conditions and the occasional pyromanic dont mix well. Most of the fires are caused by mad people who deliberately start them, or careless disposal of glass bottles and live cigarette butts! Unfortunately this year in our Valencia region we have lost 2 brave firemen in these fires. The fires in July were only 7km away and we had severe ash falls and huge smoke billowing over the hills. Fortunately the warm winter temperatures and good rainfall mean that devastated areas soon regenerate and in the short term the biggest loss is the wildlife and landscape looks blackened and desolate but in a couple of years it is all back except for the pine trees.

| That's good news JK. Forrest fires are so unpredictable and deadly to those who fight them and those who don't listen to evacuation orders. It is one sick human being who deliberately sets a fire for kicks.

| Wish you the best of luck. Here in Southern Arizona I have been involved intimately with 3 major ( they were the biggest of the years they happened) forest fires. The first one I got superb pictures (with a film camera) from within 600 yds from the flames (I was at the premier Hummingbird site in the US,Ramsey Canyon) and from the Sierra Vista airport where every other borate bomber refilled. It is not a happy occaison when it happens, luckily 2 of the three did not destroy any buildings only habitat which mostly grows back. One however destroyed an entire community and many summer homes. So far this season Arizona has been relatively lucky.

| Hi Tom contrary to popular belief, cats are very smart, they have us give them food and housing, and some of us actually give them the attention they deserve and want. we rescued out little girl from the mean streets, she had patches of fur missing due to mistreatment she was 8 to 10 weeks old, she gets all the tlc we can give her and she is the smartest and most loving feline. life without her would not be as sweet. our yard is cat haven they are all welcome and they know it as we all ways have 2 or more playing or just hanging out here. they have clean water and are left in peace WE really enjoy watching them play and scamper about the yard. plus it does wonders keeping the rodent population down LOL take care and be well Ed

| Ed- I am NOT one of those dog lovers who hate cats  In fact one of the endearing things I believe about our last JRT is that he was part cat. When asked what was so different about him and our new JRT, she often says, "Lucky needs and loves us - WE loved and needed Skippy - he often acted more like a cat than a dog." Hey my Cat, Sam is very smart and articulate!!! If he would just learn to walk on the leash, he'd be a great companion!!!! We get along great, as long as I do everything he tells me to do
