That was quick!
I dont understand why a golden postbox was chosen.
At a time of shrinking business and rising prices for the service by Royal Mail so having a golden post box seem somewhat contrary.

Maybe I think too deeply!

you would only have to visit this tiny welsh town to realise the furor this has created j.k .all shop and pub windows are decorated ,houses covered in flags and messages .and being a small town every one knows nearly every one else ..
and as all gold medalists are having there own stamps printed the post office have got in on the act :thumbsup:

I suppose it's because the post box is the only remaining fixture in our streets that could be decorated.

I think if BT had kept the old phone boxes they would have been another obvious candidate.

It's a nice tribute to golden performances from these dedicated athletes.

Watching the sports on TV today, the wife thrust her leg out and up into the air, letting out an earsplitting screech. I thought she was getting into the spirt of the taekwondo....but apparently it was cramp.

It's nice to see something uplifting for the old country, been too much doom and gloom of late.

been too much doom and gloom of late.....

.....well what do you expect? the country went to the dogs years ago. Nothing left of Great Britain, except Elizabeth's tax grabbing governments of course.

It's virtually all been sold out to the US style corporate admin office world non-public facing unaccountable model of power disparity exploit and ripping the people off at every turn.

The island really needs undermining from the sea bed, floated and towed somewhere warmer.

...on second thoughts maybe sinking is the more humane option.

I'm just guessing here Steve, but I am thinking you didn't buy Eric Idle's "always look on the bright side of life" at the olympic closing event ??

Well if it gets towed to a warmer place then it may get even more rain than this summer.
However I wouldnt be averse to that option as long as the population was also reduced!
