Been worried by this problem on my main Mavericks machines. http://osxdaily.com/2013/11/24/slow-open-save-dialog-problem-mac-os-x/ I'm NOT going to try the workaround as it will break the way my networking is set up. Others may find it more useful.

I haven't had that problem but knowing my luck I will now I've said that.

Thanks, JK, but I'll stick with the wait for now. There is a lot of talk in the Apple Support threads and most seem to feel it is a Finder issue and will be fixed in the upcoming Mavericks update (released to devs last week). Happy Thanksgiving !!!
