Whilst I dont think I would want to use an iPad for image editing I can see the appeal of you are away from home/base for extended periods. These new iPads announced today look to be very good for this task. http://connect.dpreview.com/post/6889749761/apple-ipad-air-mini-retina-display?utm_campaign=internal-link&utm_source=news-list&utm_medium=text&ref=title_0_2

Well, they finally got the mini right. No reason it shouldn't have the same horsepower as the larger one. Hard call...mini or air??? I think the 9.7" screen still wins...especially for watching movies or TV when travelling and for books...my old eyes enjoy the slightly larger screen. OTOH, the size of the mini is almost compelling. Kind of like a pocket book sized paperback vs. a "trade" sized one... Oh my...what a wonderful dilemna...

I think a new iPad Mini with 64GB and 4G connection is the way I will go. I do like my iPad 2 but the smaller size is ideal when traveling.

Same thing I am considering. I use my iPad2 for almost everything and it's very battered now, I'm going to upgrade, but mini or full size? I do a lot of PDF reading and notating on it currently, that is my main reason for hesitating about a mini otherwise the mini would win for for me.

If you annotating then the larger screen will be better. I use iAnnotate and it is good.
