Latest project - four tall leylandi that need to come down - three done and one to go. Should result in a significant saving on the heating bills this winter .... Click here to comment on this image. Click here to comment on this image.

Can you burn that this year? I thought it had to dry for a longish period? Saving on winter 2023/4? Are you cutting them down or using a tree surgeon? Unusual for tree surgeon to use scaffold tower. They ‘macho it’ out with just ropes round here…..they rejected my offer of a ladder to reach the first branches preferring to spend ages throwing a rope up multiple times. Good tree surgeons …crap Cowboys.

Cutting them ourselves - my son & I. The split logs take around 6 months to dry out so they will serve in Feb next year - I have another store of 18 month old logs for the early winter.

Is the job finished now Chris? Did you hire the scaffold tower?

Not yet - we are planning some more cutting today - I bought the cuplock scaffolding off ebay many years ago, it has repaid its £200 cost many times over! Up to next level - Click here to comment on this image. ..... and a prettier part of the garden - Click here to comment on this image.
