Just finished watching 'Light it, Shoot it, Retouch it' for hot-shoes on Kelby Training. He goes very budget on purpose using Cactus radio triggers, a Yuongnou 526 and Impact soft box and light stand.

He's shooting everything manually and then adjusting flash power and camera settings by chomping the photos - but makes the point that working this way there is no difference in image quality between this kit and the expensive Nikon products.
