You would think after 20 years pro photography you would learn. In fairness, I hadnt used this camera for a couple of months..... A beautiful green woodpecker landed in the garden today. Brilliant sunshine really zinged his plumage. Hopped happily, oblivious, towards the house until only 10feet from the open patio door. I quickly slipped into the office, spilled out all the camera gear, grabbed the D7000 and the Sigma 500mm. Assembling and making settings selections as I rushed down the hall, I then slumped over the armchair (in lieu of tripod). He filled the frame beautifully. I remember thinking "Jeff is going to love these", as I rattled off 20-30 shots with the woodpecker turning and posing like a catwalk model. Eventually he moved behind some bushes and I was able to review the images. "NO CARD" was all that appeared on the LCD. I had robbed BOTH the SD cards from this body when I went on my recent holiday....and forgotten to replace them. For those who dont know the green woodpecker here is a young one I took on a dull day on the patio .... 'earlier'. ( 6 years ago ...that was a shock!)
