I am sure the physicals are easy compared to the screams and cries that will come from the marketing people as they dont really 'understand' the mentality of end users, only the racking up of more consumer spend and unit sales!!
Potentially a person would buy one camera body and several high cost sensor units rather than several camera bodies and keep trading them in.
For example if this beast existed now I would want it as a D800 body with a 36MP, 24MP and 16MP sensor. How that said it is more likely to come first in a D5/6 camera.
I wonder how much the body and knobs cost compared to the 'works' ?
You could still find, for example, a replaceable D800 sensor costing £1000+.
