still checking out this new d7100 body ,but it seems fine so far ,out yesterday and using it with the 300mm f4 lens with 1.7tc fitted and shooting at f8 ,on our way back to the car i spotted deep in a bush a blue tit perched on a branch .under most circumstances it would have been an impossible shot as i had no tripod or monopod with me . i set the iso to auto and took a few shots ,and although noisy i,m quiet pleased with the results heres one of them shot at iso 5600 and imho it still retains enough detail to make it worth looking at .gives me hope for the winter owls anyway . never actually checked on previous bodies but on the 7100 when you press the iso button and turn the front command dial it switches in and out of auto iso very very handy for these sort of situations deep under cover @ iso 5600 by blackfox wildlife & nature imaging, on Flickr
