The D5000 & D5100 will only recognize non-CPU lenses on the M (manual) setting and there is no light meter function at all. I will be using the chipped T-mount for a microscope adaptor and it will allow the arpeture priority setting to function. The D5100 has a great articulating LCD, which is most useful, too bad the pro nikons don't have this feature;~(
