They are certainly relieved to have been gotten out of hole... £150k sales plan was in jeopardy. They haven't received my bill yet....I did over 50!

Defringing is a softening of the surface edges. Applied once with enough pixel width selection it can remove white cutout remnants. But it's not foolproof. I've never used the refine edge feature in CS 5/6 it may be better. But as an old dog I still use my tried and tested actions. It may be no better than the new techniques but I can do it without thinking at the press of an assigned function button. When you have 50 intricate cutouts to do every shortcut helps.
