I said I would never eat horsemeat but after hunting in Africa for a few years I tried Zebra. The camp cook took the backstraps and made cordon bleu and I will have to admit I rather liked it. Did not have any taste terribly different than other wild game. Tender and quite good actually. I became rather fond of one of your English dishes while there(the family I have made friends with were of English ancestry) that on the face sounds repugnent to American ears. Steak and Kidney Pie. Have never seen it on any menu here in the states but would have it if I did. I did like one other dish that also had a terrible name (per American values) 'spotted dick and pudding'. Never did actually know what it was except good. Last edited on Tue Jan 22nd, 2013 01:50 by KenRay ____________________ Kenneth Ray |
