If you feel you need a lens like the 10-22, I recommend that you purchase the Sigma equivalent One day you might get a 5D (MkIV perhaps) and then you will be glad of the extra resolution Unfortunately, AFAIK, you must shoot a Full Frame image then crop later since I'm not aware of Canon supporting the method used in DX crop mode on Nikon FX cameras (DX Crop - in camera crop with viewfinder darkening to permit the capture of 15MP images at 1.5x magnification. The main disadvantage is the smaller viewfinder area available and the rearrangement of the, thankfully many, focus points) DX crop allows a Nikon D800 to shoot with a 400mm as though it's a 600mm similar to choosing a 7D with a 400mm (of course the 7D is much cheaper)
