TOO LATE!
My good lady frogmarched me into a store yesterday and forced a pair on my feet! She said it was getting like a remake of "Lady and the tramp".
I remember living with my Grandfather in St. Helens, England in the early 1950's, one coal fire place in the entire home, and getting a pair of Marks and Spensers (?) slippers with rubber soles and a warm checkered cloth upper. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. If I could have worn them to school I would have. Now that I think back on it, those were some cold times and an out house to boot! Makes me realize just how very fortunate I am these days.
