Btw. I would strongly discourage purchasing af-s lenses as one day you will end up kicking yourself.

Apologies - late night typo - I meant Canon Ef-s lenses (Not Nikon AFs lenses)

As you know, Nikon make DX lenses and these can be used (cropped) on FX cameras

Canon make (equivalent) Ef-s lenses and these can NOT be used (cropped) on Canon Full Frame bodies the Ef-s mount is different to the EF mount

Fortunately Sigma make Canon Mount DC lenses (as opposed to DG) which are comparable in performance to the Canon Ef-s range and these can be used (cropped) on Canon full frame bodies

Canon make a mediocre 10-22 EFs, a great 60mm Macro EFs and an excellent 17-55 EFs*, but you would cry if you didn't realise at time of purchase that they could not be used on that future 5D that you might find at a bargain price

*there are a few other EFs lenses from Canon including the pretty average 18-200 (worse than Nikons 18-200) along with Canon's worst lens - the 18-55 and a couple of others
