Certainly a good place to recuperate. Its actually further North East than Gascony...near Troyes in N. Burgundy. The area that Chorus in Henry V refers to as the "vastie fyelds of france". And they are vast! We did a grand oval circuit down the west side and up the east side of France. If you ever get near Chatillion sur Seine and have an interest in Gallo-Roman history, dont miss the Mus©e du Ch¢tillonnais and the 'Treasure of Vix'. We like to think we have some good artifacts in the UK museums but this place blew me away. So much so, we plan to go back and do a 'themed' holiday looking at Gallo Roman sites. Really fascinating.
