Re: 400mm 5.6 They probably think that the Nikon 70-200 AFS VR or 80-200 AFD with a x2 converter gives you the same so wont go there. I think a 400mm f4.0 prime is a better option but f5.6 would be lighter and cheaper as you say. Is anything Nikon cheap?
