BTW. If you dont paint them then the colour of the polystyrene cause reflected flash light to be very blue.
If you shine a UV lamp on to polystyrene you will see why! There is plenty UV in the flash and digital cameras are pretty sensitive to UV.
To throw a bigger spanner in the works emulsion paint can glow magenta in UV! LOL
