Seems to be the norm in my experience with most electronic items I purchase. It either craps out right away and you replace under warranty. Or it lasts a long time. Very little in between time failures. I think that is why extended warranties are not usually a good thing. If the item craps out early it is covered by the general warranty. If you get the extended warranty, and it craps out after 5 years or so, you would probably want to replace it anyway as technology will have past it several times over. Extended warranties = the company is betting it will last and you are betting it won't. Thanks Robert for sifting through all that information.
