So it is the background that 'taints' the image.
Eric's edits have really improved the visual rendering.

I have seen a lot of Graham's images from when he had his own studio in both print and  digital images and they were always spot on so as Eric points out the eye is being fooled by the background or some other effect.

I dont know what to suggest for future shoots (Ahem, repaint the wall!) but I had a similar situation in Spain at the photo club there, except the taint was blue due to ceiling tiles that seemed to reflect blue light even though they looked cream.
