It does take an age to load!
Page processed in 9.3994 seconds (97% database + 3% PHP). 37008 queries executed.
I will have a look and see whether the logic can be improved to speed it up.
The "sponsor's image" is one of JK's - I guess he chose it originally and it has never changed.
We already have a random image at the bottom of the menu - options would be to move the random to the top and do away with the sponsor's image, have a carousel of images changing every 2 or 3 seconds or an occasional change of image - daily or weekly?
Whatever you (and JK) think is best. I just feel that having a fixed image there (along with slow changing recent images) isn’t as dynamic? / inviting for all the new visitors.
