Having bought myself a super duper 2024 spec MacBook, I now discover the Sony firmware isn’t new enough to support the latest OS, so it won’t allow firmware updates without disabling half of its security defaults and faffing about rebooting and installing additional software. You couldn’t make it up! Even my old laptop cannot now be used as it’s still got windows 8 and that’s been dropped off Sony’s software compatibility list. Sigh! My only recourse is to borrow a mates laptop with windows 10. Incidentally, having trawled the Sony site I notice it’s not just the 200-600 lens that’s got firmware updates. I’ve got 2 other lenses that ‘need’ doing at the same time. I say ‘need’ but I do wonder whether these updates add anything to the functionality of MY set up. A lot of the changes relate solely to new camera compatibility. Can’t wait till Wednesday. Last edited on Mon Dec 11th, 2023 14:26 by ____________________ Eric |
