I took this in November 2006, yes, time flies! With my D1 and 400mm f3.5 MF lens.

It was one of a burst of about 8 frames over 50 seconds from when the deer stampeded into view, waited for one of their number to catch up, then wandered off. They were all looking for the doe who had been left behind in the stampede.

I really struggled to process this image it wasn't sharp, the focus was a bit in front, it's a crop, which anybody who owned a D1 will testify isn't ideal with a D1 image and the lighting wasn't the best.

I had several attempts to process it, eventually came up with something which I wasn't really happy with but was the best I could do at the time.

Last night I re-worked it in Cs5 to put in my Gallery here. I was pleasantly surprised it only took me about 30 minutes and I feel quite happy with the result, it's not perfect but it's good enough.
