JK perfect ordering one this week for sure
The AF thrid party ones will work on the 80-200f2.8 AF lens, I just never found one that gave me the quality I expected..
And I too have an old 300 f4 AF Nikkor, and I found it to be great, like the 80-200 it being an AF didn't give me any real options for using TC's on it. I did use my Nikkor TC14B on it with great success. I got tack sharp images from the 300 f4/TC14B combination even shot wide open..
It spends most of it's time in the vault these days, but i have fond memories of using it!!
