Yes, I do realize there are Fast Lenses outthere...I do have the 55 f1.2 , However..going back some five decades ago when I started out with a `real camera " , a Zenith 3M with a Helios 44 lens which is at 58mm f2.0...followed by a konica autoreflex with Hexanon 52 f1.8 ,I was Disappointed...the Helios had somewhat better Contrast ,but the real culprit was it`s Focal length of 58mm , the Hexanon`s 52mm was too short, when I went on to Nikon, I got the 50 f2.0....50 f1.4...all too short for me , then the 55 f1.2 came along and I could breathe again...but still, it is No 58mm.

Several times did I come this close to obtain the Noct 58 f1.2, but there was always a lens , camera or flash that had precedens, looking back, I realized that an f1.2 I already had sooo....I deemed it Not justfied to spend that much cash on something that came close to something I already had.

All this time I Envied the leica folks with their Noctilux 50 f1.0 , consoling myself that it was n`t a 58mm,..now , I do have the zoom nikkor 35-70 f2.8 af-D , but even when set to ( about ) 58mm , it just can n`t cut it , it just does Not feel right.

The comment about the F-flange being inadequate for such a f0.95 optic does not hold water either, as the Inner Diameter of the Leica M-flange has te Same 44mm Inner Diameter as the Nikon F-flange which is Also at 44mm , ...tho` I do realize that Flange distances are rather different , that should Not be of Any Consequence since Both of their rear lens elements would Protrude in said diameter.

I have studied Tests/Comments of the Mitakon/Samyang/Zenitar f0.95 lenses, and those are of Mediocre quality at best.

When I have to shell out " hard to come by Cash " for something i want , then it has to be Worth my while, the new Noct 58 f0.95 might ..( if it is anything like the f1.2 version)...the rest does not meet the criteria .

Just a day ago have I aquired the Motorola Moto Z3 with the HASSELBLAD clip on, it is of such Incredible Quality that it Nearly makes Most of my photographic equipment Obsolete...if it was n`t for my 14-24 f2.8....PC-E 24 f3.5.....PC 28 f3.5.....PC 35 f2.8.....PC-E Micro 85 f2.8....135 f2.0.....180 f2.8....all of these being " smart Phone camera Killers " .....with the Noct 58 f0.95 as a Welcome Re-Inforcement.

This is the position that I find myself in the realm of Photography.

Long Story short, with All the Lenses that I have, there are Two that I " Need "...the PC-E 19 f4.0 and that New Noct 58 f0.95....

Question is....Will Nikon accommodate me in my Quest of Photographic Bliss...
