My old TE76 (which is the one I fell over) just keeps going, I have lost count of how many hours it's done. It was well used when I bought it about 2005, so I have had it for 14 years? It has a service light but I have never seen it light up. How far would Nikon get if the next model, D6 stopped working after say, 10,000 exposures needing a compulsory 'free service'? Nobody would buy it. I wouldn't buy a drill with a compulsory service schedule either. I thought these shenanigans had stopped after car manufacturers tried to prevent owners from resetting service notifications in high end cars.
