And Iain, I have used one myself, Jeff uses one too with both a 1.7 and a 1.4 TC, see the Tern thread. The F4 is a good combination of weight and quality. My 2.8 can weigh heavy after a few hours, but the 2.8 is worth it in my opinion. Cost wise my 2.8 is MF, as are most of my good lenses. I do't do AF due to the cost. Frankly I don't think it makes that much difference to the keeper rate and it keeps me on my toes! Most of my subjects are static.
