Welcome to the forum. If you are referring to the exposure scale on the right of the screen...it won't move if ISO is on automatic, because despite setting the shutter speed and aperture yourself, the camera will automatically select the ISO to give the correct exposure for these settings....in other words the scale reading will stay in the middle ideal exposure position. Page 111 of the handbook shows how you can make your own compensation changes to the cameras exposure calculation for your settings....but unless you choose settings that cause the camera to go outside it's ISO range ( ie low light with too fast shutter speed or too small aperture) or switch ISO to manual or make your own compensation changes ....the scale won't move.
