Yes I understood that removing the filters makes for a sharper and monochrome image but I do think that it is a strange to go for a full monochrome camera.
Converting a camera to IR use is fine as that is a decision on a one off basis not a whole production run.
I suspect diehard Leica owners brains are wired differently from ours...
