I had passed on this image but having tried processing it in Lightroom It's not as bad as I expected. It's a photo of a toad underwater in a pool, they are very hard to spot but I managed to grab this one with the D300s and 70-300.

300mm, 1/60sec at f6.3, ISO 560 (auto ISO)



I have to say I am warming to the D300s, I think the PO may have made some obscure change to the settings which resulted in lacklustre images (possibly why he sold it?), the two button reset seems to have improved it a lot.
