The sensor on the X30 is much smaller but the camera has all the features of the X100 plus it has a zoom lens. I did consider buying one myself but I got a Nikon V1 with 10-30 and 30-110 lenses and a spare battery for less than £300. The X30 was £475.
The V1 has a sensor (1" CX sized) which is 1/2 the area of APS-C.
The X30 sensor is half that again I think, so 1/4 the area of APS-C.
