re: sharpness and distortion.
I ahve not seen or done any tests.
Onthe basis that this is a new design, with the latest coatings, and not being a budget zoom-lens, it should satisfy the criteria you mention.
E.g. remember the distortion reported in the 16-35 f 4 lens of recent years.
