Answer to your question, because many of us succumb to the Nikon marketing machine and 'peer pressure', as in if 'X' has it then it must be worth shelling out for. I will say it again, my D200 produces images perfectly adequate for MY needs. The only drawback with the D200 is that it stumbles a little when photographing black cats in coal cellars, that's why I feel the need for a D3, to enhance my capacity for dark shadow detail.
