I have searched some info about this new software, (app?) this is the most useful site I could come up with:

I have checked out my iPhone and realised I have been using 'Photos' for some time... I thought it was just the in-phone repository for photographs but it seems it is the app we are talking about. It's said iPhoto no longer works with iOS 8 I, don't know because I deleted it almost as soon as I installed it due to the space wasting aspect of unwanted software.
